UFC featherweight champion visited Mestalla
Valencia CF received the visit of the well-known Spanish-Georgian UFC fighter, Ilia Topuria, last season. A day in which he was able to know the secrets of Mestalla, shared a few moments with the VCF Academy players and witnessed the victory of the Valencianista team against Getafe CF.
Both the Club and Topuria share those values of effort, work and sacrifice. "I was delighted to see the match, I grew up in this community, specifically in Alicante, and I feel very grateful for the treatment received. They have made me feel at home. The energy I felt at Mestalla was wonderful and it is not the last time I will visit this great stadium. You don't forget this so easily, it creates a feeling," Topuria described.
"I have also come to support Mamardashvili, who is a great and I am super happy for him who does not stop shining and I have no doubt that he will continue to grow more and more," he said of his compatriot.
In the early hours of February 18, 'Matador' has become the UFC Mixed Martial Arts featherweight champion after defeating Alexander Volkanovski. The Spanish-Georgian becomes the first Spaniard to win the title and preserves a record of 15 wins and no losses.
